In memorial of our matriarch and co founder of Moorefield Construction.
We are saddened to announce, on January 11th, 2023 our beloved Ann Moorefield passed away, leaving behind a legacy of strength, determination, and perseverance.
Ann was the owner of Moorefield Construction, Inc., a company that she co-founded with her husband, Harold E. Moorefield. After his passing, she stepped up to the plate and took over the business, becoming a leader in a male-dominated industry. Despite the challenges she faced, Ann refused to be held back. She pushed through and proved that a woman could run a successful construction company.
Ann was also a breast cancer survivor, an inspiration to many of us who have been affected by this disease. She faced her diagnosis with courage and determination, and her strength and resilience served as a reminder to us all that we can overcome any obstacle with the right mindset.
Ann was also a recipient of numerous awards and accolades for her contributions to the industry. Awards such as Ernst and Young’s “Entrepreneur of the Year”, Top 500 Working Woman, and ENR’s Top Lists showed recognition for her leadership, integrity, and commitment to excellence. Her contributions to the construction industry will not be forgotten.
But Ann was more than just a business owner, she was also a mother, a grandmother, a great-grandmother, a friend, and a mentor. She was devoted to her family and loved ones, and she was always there to offer her support and guidance. Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends, and colleagues will miss her dearly, but they will always remember the lessons she taught them and the love she shared with them.
Ann leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire future generations. Her hard work and determination have paved the way for other women in the construction industry and her memory will live on through the many projects her company has undertaken and completed.
Rest in peace Ann, and enjoy being reunited with Harold. We know you will both be watching over us.
